It Counts as natural extent to Alexandria port as a result of the increment of the containers movement in Alexandria port and other Egyptian Ports. Its was chosen to achieve the the economic and spatial dimension that are represented in :

1.

Its gulf shaped with a large depth in the sea that will decrease purification cost.

2.

The area is semi-sandy that will save money in buildings and rubble.

3.

The extended area is enough for future projects.

4.

It is easy to link this site with national roads (e.g. Alex-Cairo - Desert way)

5.

The site is near El Dekheila  Iron and Steel complex , the free zone and the electricity generating project west Alexandria.
