In the very early eighties, the government of Arab Republic of Egypt set a provision of an integrated strategic policy for the development and expansion of the Egyptian merchant fleet in terms of size and type.
This policy has in fact created the proper environment for the foundation of National Navigation Company, as a free zone company with a paid capital of
150 million USD, to facilitate and enhance Egypt’s trade and on the other hand to participate in the sea-transportation of international dry bulk commodities.
